  • Determination of the sensitivity profile to 14 single or combined antibiotics in 24-48 hours, including critical antibiotics, in order to identify potential resistance directly from milk.

  • Identification of 8 bacterias frequently involved in clinical mastitis within 48 hours

  • Innovative microwell cultivation technology enhances the value of veterinary breeding advice and enables rational prescription

  • Interpretation facilitated by color change of wells and growth indicators

  • Some selective agar plate may be inoculated directly from the wells for subspecies identification

For veterinary use only.

Why use Speed Mam Color ?

Mastitis is the most common and costly disease affecting dairy herds worldwide. With antimicrobial therapy remaining the mainstay of mastitis control programmes, the development of antibiotic resistance is an issue of great concern.

International pressure to limit antimicrobial therapy in animals and reduce the risk of resistant bacteria continues to grow.

Good mastitis management therefore requires clear identification of pathogens and antibiotic susceptibility testing.

  • Speed Mam Color enables evidence-based therapy and sensible use of antibiotics

  • Speed Mam Color enables rapid infentification of the risk of antibiotic resistance

  • Thanks to its simple protocol, Speed Mam color can be used to develop systematic tests

When to use Speed Mam Color ?

Speed Mam Color can be used :

- To regularly test milk in particular case of mastitis outbreak in the herd

- To improve mastitis management and regular epidemiological surveillance within the herd based on the infectious profile of several milk samples

- To evaluate potential antibiotic failure of the 1st-line antibiotics and lower the risk of resistance

Quick guide

Please refer to the test instruction for more detailed procedure.

1. Inoculate the culture medium with the milk sample according to the instructions.

2. Then inoculate the gallery following the instructions for each well.

3. Place the gallery on the cardboard support and incubate at 37°C in an incubator.

Read the control wells followed by the antibiotic wells after 24h of incubation. Then read the bacterial identification wells after 48h of incubation. Please note that Mycoplasma spp. requires 7 days growth.

Speed Mam Color performances
